This beautiful island exhibit is memorable in so many ways but began as a few lines drawn on a whiteboard and a steep list of challenges. How do you create an exhibit that maintains open-concept, is a “show-stopper,” and has the structure to house multiple video walls and other technology? This case study takes an in-depth look.
To begin, the design needed to meet the distinct requirements of two separate divisions within the company, each of which would be co-presenting this memorable island exhibit. As a result, both entities had individual sets of specifications. The final design had to embody the sophisticated yet lively essence of Parallon’s brand, while also exuding the esteemed image associated with HealthTrust.
Extensive collaboration with both clients allowed the Astor Group to understand each organization’s distinct preferences.
First, the team curated an in-depth list of elements to steer the direction of the booth. After generating a multitude of ideas, our team presented the most promising rough sketches to both clients.
Through their feedback, we integrated their preferred elements into the design. As we refined the concept, we also ensured that the display’s outcome suited the needs of both companies.
As the team gathered multiple rounds of feedback, we continued to make adjustments. Through each exchange, we captured the unique essence of each client’s brand. Then, our highly skilled engineers swiftly brought the design to fruition.
The designers meticulously selected optimal materials for assembly, ensuring stability, affordability, and user-friendliness. This final phase, which empowered the Astor Group to reduce labor costs, ultimately freed up capital for integrating innovative technology into the new display. The result is a truly memorable island exhibit.
Here are some of the innovative elements:
To meet the requirements for the space, the team carefully considered each client’s unique vision. With branding tailored to each distinct vision, the overhead signage and interior structure can accommodate both clients.
For Parallon, a backlit mock ceiling and layered ovals create bold and impactful statement, while complementing the display structure and custom flooring.
In contrast, HealthTrust’s configuration showcases an elegant custom fiber-optic chandelier. Positioned at the center of the booth space, it can synchronize with the exhibit’s diverse lighting effects.
Regardless of the layout, the resulting display is a stunner.
Originally, the CEIR (Center for Exhibition Industry Research) featured the exhibit in its Industry Insight Series, “Designed to Engage — How to Build Elements of Engagement into Booth Designs.”
Then this versatile display rightfully earned the EXHIBITORLIVE 2018 People’s Choice Award. The stunning booth also solidified its status as a top finalist for “Best Island Exhibit” in its category at Exhibitor magazine’s Portable Modular Awards. These honors emphasize its pinnacle position among the exhibitor community.
Today, this 20’ x 50’ exhibit continues to stand as the centerpiece of any show. As the most memorable island exhibit in each of its featured shows, it leaves a lasting impression.
